Emily is a member of the Workers’ Compensation Defense Practicein Wiedner & McAuliffe’s Chicago office.
Emily graduated from Michigan State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. She earned her Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in May 2000.
Before joining Wiedner & McAuliffe, Emily served a two-year judicial clerkship with the Illinois Appellate Court under Justice Patrick Quinn. Emily also clerked for the Illinois Attorney General in the Criminal Prosecution Division.

In one significant case, Emily’s investigative work proved that a claimant had filed a fraudulent workers’ compensation claim that had resulted in an award of benefits. Emily collaborated with Wiedner & McAuliffe’s Civil Litigation Group to aggressively pursue justice for the client. The civil lawsuit resulted in the Illinois Circuit Court voiding the claimant’s award and awarding monetary damages to the client.
Emily prevailed in an Appellate Court ruling for a client where the court found that an employee’s back injury occurred at a prior job, releasing the client from liability for the petitioner’s subsequent back surgery.
Emily is involved in a number of community initiatives and is president of her condominium association in downtown Chicago.
