Summary

Staci is a member of the Civil Litigation Practice in Wiedner & McAuliffe’s Chicago office. Staci’s practice emphasizes product liability defense, specifically claims involving fire and explosion, mass tort class-actions, inadequate warning labeling of products, and other issues under the Consumer Product Safety Act.

Staci graduated cum laude from Ohio University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts. She earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2006, graduating cum laude. While attending Loyola University, Staci served as a member of the Loyola University Chicago Law Review.

Prior to joining Wiedner & McAuliffe, Staci was an associate with another Chicago law firm, where she gained a wide range of litigation experience and attained successful results in arbitration, and jury and bench trials.

Notable Cases

  • In the Matter of Aqua Dots Products Liability Litigation,7thCir., (No. 10-3847, 8/17/11), Seventh Circuit affirmed the dismissal of a nationwide consumer class action for damages arising from a recalled children’s toy.  The court held that where a retailer offers a full consumer refund, a distressed consumer may not bring a class action for additional relief. The case will have major implications on consumer class actions for defective products.
