Wiedner & McAuliffe Opens Kansas City Office

In order to continue to serve our clients throughout the Midwest, Wiedner & McAuliffe is pleased to announce the opening of our Kansas City, Missouri office. This office will serve the western half of Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska. Kansas City joins W&M’s established practices in Chicago, Rockford, and St. Louis. Our Kansas City office is staffed with three very accomplished attorneys, Bruce Levine, Abagail Pierpoint, and James Humphrey, Jr. All are highly-respected attorneys, who embrace a service model and client-focused culture that is a great fit with W&M’s approach to litigation management. The firm also welcomes C. Zachary Vaughn to its liability department. Zach is experienced in multiple phases of civil litigation and continues to enhance the scope of our representation in the defense of our clients. Meet the Wiedner & McAuliffe Kansas City Team

Bruce R. Levine, brlevine@wmlaw.com, a partner, is a proven trial attorney who defends employers and insurers in workers’ compensation, general civil litigation, and insurance defense in Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska. A former Missouri Assistant Attorney General, Bruce has tried over 75 jury and bench trials. Bruce is a member of Kansas Bar Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers, and The Missouri Bar. He is admitted to practice in Missouri, Kansas, and Nebraska as well as the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Missouri and District of Kansas.

Abagail L. Pierpoint, alpierpoint@wmlaw.com, an associate, focuses on workers’ compensation, general civil litigation, and professional malpractice defense in Missouri and Kansas. A former Missouri Assistant Attorney General, Abbey has defended employers and insurers in over 50 administrative hearings in workers’ compensation in both Missouri and Kansas as well as second-chaired two jury trials. Abbey is a member of the Johnson County Bar Association, Kansas Bar Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, The Missouri Bar, and the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers. She was named 2014 Rising Star in Workers’ Compensation by Super Lawyers. Abbey was a member of the 4th Annual Greater Kansas City Bar Leadership Academy and completed the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers 2009 John L. Oliver, Jr. Trial Academy.

James W. Humphrey, Jr., jwhumphrey@wmlaw.com, of counsel, has more than five decades of experience in defending Missouri employers and insurers in workers’ compensation. Jim is certified as a Civil Trial Advocacy Specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and has trial experience that includes over 100 jury trials. Jim is a member of The Missouri Bar Association.

Welcome Zach Vaughn to Wiedner & McAuliffe’s Chicago Office

C. Zachary Vaughn is a partner in the firm’s Civil Litigation Defense Practice in the Chicago office. Zach has achieved the AV Preeminent Rating, the highest possible rating from Martindale-Hubbell for legal and ethical standards. Zach has litigated and tried complex castastrophic loss and wrongful death cases, defending insurers and self-insureds throughout the United States as well as internationally in actions involving product, premises and professional liability, construction negligence, subrogation, insurance coverage disputes, and transportation liability. Zach is admitted to practice in Illinois, Michigan, Missouri , U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois Trial Bar and the U.S. District Court, Central District of Illinois.
