Michael is a partner in the Workers’ Compensation Defense Practice in Wiedner & McAuliffe’s Chicago Office. While Michael’s experience spans across the realm of workers’ compensation issues, his practice emphasizes catastrophic accident cases. Mindful of the expense of protracted cases, Michael strives to expedite claims. He also provides preventive counseling to mitigate employers’ exposure to potentially complex legal issues. Defense work with municipal clients has given Michael an in-depth understanding of the applicable pension codes surrounding additional benefits payable to Illinois firefighters and police.
Michael graduated form the University of Illinois in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science. He earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1985.
Michael authored a chapter analyzing compensability in the seminal “In Course Of” handbook of the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education Practice program.
Michael has also presented at the Northwest Suburban Bar Association’s workers’ compensation seminar.
Michael serves as President of the Saint Vincent DePaul Conference of St. Michael Church in Wheaton, Illinois.
